Birmingham

Birmingham, the UK’s second city, has a rich industrial heritage which has undergone huge redevelopment in the last few decades, transforming the city into one of England’s most trendy and vibrant destinations. Food lovers have come to the right destination as Birmingham has a vast amount of superb Indian restaurants to offer. Don’t forget to indulge in some retail therapy in the famous Bullring Shopping centre, with over 160 stores to choose from including Selfridges or why not visit the Mailbox with designer stores such as Harvey Nicholls. At night you can enjoy a drink in one of the many bars at Brindley Place or the Arcadian.

In addition, Birmingham plays host to a wide variety of international trade fairs at the NEC and NIA.

From the airport

Birmingham Airport is directly connected to over 100 towns and cities via Birmingham International Station and the free 'Air-Rail Link' system departing from the terminal, which has departures every two minutes. Trains to Birmingham New Street depart approximately every 15 minutes.

Alternatively, you can travel to Birmingham city centre by bus (900, 966 and 777).

If you prefer to travel by taxi, black cabs operate a 24-hour service from directly outside the arrivals area of the terminal buildings. Each taxi can carry up to five passengers (some can carry six), with luggage and are able to take wheelchairs. A journey to Birmingham city center will cost you approximately £32. All black cabs accept major credit cards, provide receipts and are the only cabs licensed to operate from the Airport without prior booking.
